You’v reached the home page of Eric Smith. However, this does not mean that your quest has ended. Eric Smiths are legion. A highly unscientific investigation, supported by an almost ludicrously small data set indicates that there must be well over 100,000 Eric Smiths in the United States alone. (To help make this point, one of our number has done a little research and created this page cataloging a few Eric Smiths and what they do. I, by the way, am none of these.) This means that although you’ve found an Eric Smith’s site, it’s most unlikely that this is the site of the Eric Smith you’re seeking.

To help you narrow things down a bit: I’m one of three Eric Smiths who attended Herndon High School in Herndon, VA between 1976 and 1980. I’m also one of several Eric Smiths who could be found at Virginia Tech between 1980 and 1989. (If you’re wanting to have a word with the Eric Smith who passed quite a few bad checks in the Blacksburg area around this time, I’m afraid you’ll have to keep looking. He was before my time. No really, he was.)

I am the Eric Smith who worked as a software developer and consultant with Knowledge Systems Corporation during the early 90’s and then went on to work on Smalltalk and Java IDEs with Object Technology Inc., now a tiny little division of IBM, until the turn of the century. Since then I have been working with Duke Corporate Education , for the most part in Durham, NC.
